A2 (Elementary) level conversations: (2) My Family Members
Sarah: Hi Jenny! How’s everything going with your family?
Jenny: Hi Sarah! Things are good, thanks. How about yours?
Sarah: Not bad! I was thinking about family. Do you have any siblings?
Jenny: Yes, I have an older brother named Mike. He’s in college. What about you?
Sarah: That’s nice! I have a younger sister, Lily. She’s in high school. We get along pretty well.
Jenny: That’s great. What do you all like to do together?
Sarah: Well, on weekends, we often have movie nights at home. Lily loves animated films, so we watch those a lot. How about you and Mike?
Jenny: Mike is into sports, so we sometimes play soccer in the backyard. Our family also enjoys going on hikes when the weather is nice.
Sarah: Hikes sound fun! Do you have any family traditions?
Jenny: Yes, during holidays, we always gather at my grandparents’ house for a big family dinner. We’ve been following this tradition for quite some time now.
Sarah: That sounds wonderful. Family dinners are the best. By the way, do you live close to your extended family?
Jenny: Yes, most of our relatives live in the same town, so we see each other often. How about you?
Sarah: We’re a bit spread out, but we make an effort to visit during special occasions. Family is so important, right?
Jenny: Absolutely! They’re the ones who stand by you through thick and thin. Oh, and speaking of family, do you have any pets?
Sarah: Yes, we have a dog named Max. He’s like another member of the family. How about you?
Jenny: No pets at the moment, but we used to have a cat named Whiskers. She was so playful.
Sarah: Pets do bring so much joy! Well, it was nice chatting about our families, Jenny!
Jenny: You too, Sarah! Family is such a special topic. If you ever want to join us for a hike or movie night, let me know!
Sarah: I’d love that, Jenny! Let’s plan something soon.
