A2 (Elementary) level conversations: (8) Talking about School Subjects

Sophia: Hi Jack! How’s everything at school?

Jack: Hey Sophia! It’s going well, thanks. How about you?

Sophia: Not bad. I was thinking about school subjects. What’s your favorite subject?

Jack: That’s a tough one. I think I enjoy math the most. Solving problems is like a puzzle for me. What about you?

Sophia: Nice choice! I really like English. Reading and analyzing stories is fascinating.

Jack: English is cool! Is there a specific book or author you really like?

Sophia: Absolutely! I love J.K. Rowling’s books, especially the Harry Potter series. The magical world she created is amazing.

Jack: Oh, I’ve heard of that series. Maybe I should give it a try. Besides English, do you have other favorite subjects?

Sophia: I enjoy science, especially biology. Learning about living organisms is like discovering the secrets of life.

Jack: Biology sounds interesting. I’m more into physics. The laws of motion and energy fascinate me. Any subjects you find challenging?

Sophia: Hmm, probably history. Remembering dates and events can be tricky.

Jack: I get that. History can be a lot to remember. Do you have a favorite teacher?

Sophia: Yes, my science teacher, Mrs. Johnson, is fantastic. She brings a lot of excitement and enjoyment to the lessons.

Jack: That’s awesome! A good teacher makes a big difference. By the way, any extracurricular activities you’re involved in?

Sophia: I’m part of the school choir. Singing is a great way to express myself. How about you?

Jack: I play soccer. The teamwork and competition make it enjoyable. Do you have a favorite school memory so far?

Sophia: Probably the school play last year. It was incredibly enjoyable, and I got to know some new friends.  How about you?

Jack: Winning the inter-school soccer tournament. The excitement and pride were unforgettable. Well, Sophia, it was nice chatting about school subjects with you!

Sophia: You too, Jack! If you ever want to study together or join the choir for a performance, let me know!

Jack: Sounds great, Sophia! Let’s plan for that sometime.
